YinzerFests!
Oktoberfest is back!
We're excited to be teaming up with Nature of Fire again for this one! Join us at Holy Child Church in Bridgeville for free food, live music from David Kruse & Emma Fradd, a talk and of course, some good German beer.
This is a Pittsburgh-wide young adult event, 21-40.
About the Artists:
David Kruse is a professional musician and entrepreneur. He is the owner and CEO of OréMoose Industries LLC, a Catholic art initiative, and is newly married to his wife Emma. In 2022 He released an album 'Just Listen!' touring Australia and New Zealand. Towards the end of this year David will release a funk album titled 'Midnight Punch'.
Emma Fradd first bred music into the world back in 2009 with her debut album ‘Search Party’. Since then she has released multiple albums, collaborative projects and singles, including an album of Psalms written by songwriters in the Brisbane Archdiocese. She has toured across Canada, England and Australia (a dozen times). Emma's new album 'Fun Sad' marries the juxtaposition of life's happiest turning point, right in the middle of life's biggest difficulty. Emma recently got married to David Kruse—they met dating long distance during covid. What got them talking in the first place? The idea of starting a record label, now Enemy Love Records. Emma follows up the release of her album Fun Sad with the single 'Firing Range', releasing everywhere on 21 August 2024.
About the Artist:
Though they didn't know it, the women of Acaciawood were all raised under the same California sun. Years later, while attending college in the hills of Steubenville Ohio, they realized that together, they could make magic. Brigid's dynamic songwriting was brought to life by Aislin's powerful, Irish-influenced harmony, while Russian-trained Luna weaved her way deftly between the lines with rich, haunting violin. They recorded their first single, Bend the Roses, around a single microphone in an old attic—you can hear the creak of the hundred-year-old floorboards in the intro! After their first release in April of 2022, they were convinced that this was a dream collaboration. As they developed their sound, their breezy Laurel Canyon influences collided with the rich roots of Appalachia. What emerged was a fresh, folk-forward repertoire that swept their little college town away. They went on to record a full-length album over the course of their final summer in Ohio, after crowdfunding 122% of their $10,000 goal. Santa Ana, their newest single, is the first example of their work with a new producer who does, in fact, own multiple microphones. Their debut album was released on April 19, 2024.
